I hope you enjoyed your long weekend. I was privileged enough to go up to Sedona on Sunday to preach at a small church up there and then got to go hiking in the beautiful red rock mountains along Oak Creek.
We have a science test this week made up of three parts. The first part was assigned on Thursday night and is a diagram that shows the interactions between the four main Earth spheres. On Thursday, students will take the vocabulary part of their science test. On Friday, students will take the concepts part of the test. I encourage you to check in on them and see how they are doing and possibly help them study.

LESSONS
English: We will have no spelling this week and instead will be focusing on writing. We have completed three explanatory essays and this week we will encounter opinion writing. We will continue reading The Little Prince. Recitations for our new poem“By Myself,” will be next Wednesday, February 24th.
Math: During week seven, students will continue to study area, including how to decompose rectangles.
Science: In science this week, students will take the unit assessment, which is broken into three parts. On Thursday, students will be tested on the unit’s vocabulary. On Friday, students will take the concepts part of the unit assessment. Their diagram is due on Friday.
History: Students will be identifying and comparing the tribes of the Southwestern United States: Apache, Commanche, Hopi, Zuni, Navajo, and Pueblo. They will also recognize the changes between these and their ancestral Pueblo cliff dwellers.
