Greetings Families,
As we prepare to enter week 4, remember that Friday is a 100% distance learning day. Students will have a few tests and assignments to complete that day. They will need access to Google Classroom as well. In-person students do not need to turn anything in on Google Classroom. All work for in-person students should be completed and turned in on Monday.
I don't really have much to mention before I get to the lessons. I do want to say thank you to Ms. Pabin and Coach Conklin for helping with the read-a-thon celebration and to those who provided snacks. It was a fun time of reading and writing...and eating!

LESSONS
ELA: Please bring in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe as we start reading on Monday. There will be a normal set of spelling words this week. We will work on some more diagramming skills in grammar.
Math: Week four will be focused on learning the six facts if students have not already mastered the six facts and solving multiplication and division problems.
History: We will continue to learn about the Roman empire, specifically the influence Cleopatra had on Caesar and Rome at the end of the Roman Republic.
Science: In science this week, students will turn their attention from sound to light. The first lesson of the week will focus on simply understanding what light is--a form of energy that can be seen. There will be some brief demonstrations to help students start to grasp that light emits from different things. The second lesson will focus on the behaviors of light. Again, some things emit light. Other things reflect light. They will look at how different matter interacts differently with light, such as how clear glass is transparent, wood is opaque, and other things that allow some light to pass through them are translucent. -- Please remember that Friday’s lesson will be available in Google Classroom.
