I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend. Here are the lessons for this week.
Field Trip
Students will go on their first field trip tomorrow. The goal is to leave the campus by 8:30 a.m. and we should return by 12:15 p.m. Please see on of the prior post about the field trip if you have any questions.
Volcano Activity
At the end of the week, students will end their study of volcanoes with a traditional volcano activity. Students will use the baking soda and vinegar reaction to discuss how volcanoes have a buildup of pressure that leads to an eruption. We do need some items provided. Please click here to donate those items.
Lessons
Grammar: This week, students will be working through some paragraph edit worksheets to help them learn to identify grammar and spelling mistakes.
History: Students will continue to look at the events that led up to the American Revolution. There is an open-notes quiz on Friday.
Literature: Students should finish up Prince Caspian this week and will move on to Carry On, Mr. Bowditch.
Math: This week in math, students will look at quadrilaterals and triangles. There is a math test on quadrilaterals on Thursday.
Greek and Latin Roots: There is a Greek and Latin roots review check on Wednesday over roots 55-57.
Poetry: Students will recite the "Concord Hymn" this week.
Science: This week, students will study volcanoes. As an activity, students will be making baking soda and vinegar volcanoes.
Spalding: Students will learn new words this week and be assessed on Friday.
