I hope you have enjoyed your weekend. This week should have a little more normalcy with Ms. Maguire returning to us full time.

Here are the plans for this week.
History: This week in history, students will delve even further into the story of the American Revolution, examining the Battle of Bunker Hill, the main ideas of Thomas Paine's Common Sense and its effects, and a closer look at the Declaration of Independence. On Friday, they will take a test on chapters 1-14.
Science: During week 8, students will be focusing on weathering and erosion. At the end of the week, students will understand the rock cycle and how rocks are constantly changing depending on the factors discussed. There are two quizzes this week, both being on geology. Students should be reviewing their geology notes regularly. It is also recommended that they create notecards to study as well. Looking ahead to week 9, there will be a geology quiz on Monday. Toward the end of week 9, the students will take the unit exam on geometry. This will be the only test of the quarter.
Math: On Monday, students will take a cumulative test on units 1-6. The students reviewed this material on Friday. Students will then move into lessons on adding and subtracting decimals.
Language Arts: The Spalding regiment remains the same. In literature, students will read chapters 13-20. In writing, the students will study poetry. Also, your child should be studying their Greek and Latin roots regularly, as there is a text next week. They need to know the first 75 roots. There is a Quizlet available under the resource tab if that would be beneficial.
