Greetings Families,
I hope your weekend is going well and that your child came home and shared with you the joy they had at the MIM. All of the students seemed to really enjoy the trip and wanted to share their stories with me when we returned to school. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to go. I understand the trust it takes to allow us to take your precious child off campus and I am honored by your confidence in me.
I also want to say a special thanks to the volunteers and staff who joined us. Without your willingness, it would not have been possible. For those who volunteered, but where not selected, thank you for your willingness to serve our class.

Lessons
Language Arts
We will continue our Spalding list with the next 30 words. In writing and grammar we will be continuing our in class writing project. In literature we are continuing our journey through The Little Prince. If your child has not already done so, please send him or her in with her copy of the book.
History
In history we are continuing our unit on Native Americans. We will be learning about the early Mound Builders. We will also learn about the Hopi, Zuni, Navajo, Apache, Comanche, Seminole, Cherokee, and Sequoya tribes. We are only getting a small taste of each tribe, but we look forward to learning more from the students during the presentations of their projects!
Math
In math we will continue our fractions unit. We will be using manipulatives to find equivalent fractions and to simplify fractions. We will also be making a fraction pizza!
