Greetings Families,
Here at Archway Arete, we love to celebrate children. A part of that is celebrating a child's birthday. The student will be able to pick the job of his or her choice for the day. We will sing "Happy Birthday" to the child. However, because of allergies, parental concerns for healthy eating, and the rigorous academic schedule, I have decided to not permit treats as a way of celebrating birthdays. One method another Archway school celebrates a child's birthday is by allowing the parents to donate an approved children's literature book in his or her honor. This would also include a brief presentation in front of the class. Parents may also gift classmates with pencils or other small objects.
That being said, because of my delay in posting this, a parent has already provided cupcakes to celebrate a birthday. If you do not want your child to have one of these during lunch tomorrow, please email me as soon as possible. Going forward, no treats will be accepted.
Best,
Michael Naaktgeboren
