Greetings Parents,
Only one week left and winter break begins. It is hard to believe that the semester has flown by so soon. Here are the lessons for this week.
Math
This week we are ending our focus on multiplication and division with an assessment on Wednesday. To end the week, we are starting our look at interpreting data and using graphs and tables.
Langauge Arts
Spalding: The students will be reviewing the phonograms and learning 30 new words.
Literature: After finishing up Pinocchio with the assessment today and a look at the marionettes tomorrow, we will end our week by reading a selection from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and a couple of tales from Aesop's Fables: "The Monkey and the Camel" and "The Tortoise and the Hare."
Writing and Grammar: Students will continue to refine their writing skills and ability to summarize material. They will also look at conjunctions and initials and abbreviations for titles of respect and for months and days of the week.
History
The students will discuss how Christians were persecuted in the Roman empire and end the week with how Rome fell from prominence. There will be a Rome final on Thursday.
Science
The students have finished all of the major lessons on the human body and will take the final on Tuesday. The week will end with a look at the cerebellum and a transplant of the human hand.
